• How do you price your projects?
Each project has its own unique requirements and time frame. These will be discussed at an initial assessment meeting, and the agreed-upon time frame will be incorporated in your own personal project map and assigned fees based on efficiencies. We take on clients of all sizes, from Fortune 500 companies to Independents, and pride ourselves on being very user friendly and accommodating to clients of all sizes.
• How many people do you assign to project teams?
A Project Lead is vested with the primary responsibility for managing a project and the client relationship. The Project Lead for each consulting project is selected based on a client’s particular needs. This Project Lead along with an Internal Lead from within the client’s organization meets to discuss specific concerns. We spend time and effort in gaining an understanding of an organization along with its needs before we recommend what and how we can assist in meeting these goals. The Project Lead plans the work program, leads and assigns the team and resources to ensure that the project is on track and running smoothly. The Lead is responsible for successful completion of the project map. He or she will be the primary contact during the course of the project.
• Where are you located?
The BarFly Group is based out of Charlotte, NC. However, BarFly consultants provide our expertise, resources and services to clients throughout the entire United States.
• Why do you not list previous or current clients on your website?
All of the work involved in a consulting project is confidential in nature. This includes both the overall details of the project as well as information collected during any internal client interviewing. The BarFly Group will only use a client as a reference with the client's permission.
• Do you offer consulting over the phone?
Our services may be tailored in any way that is most comfortable to our clients.
Telephone consulting is readily available and subsequently managed via email and weekly action plans. Should the need arise for more hand-on assistance, we can readily change the arrangement.
• Do you manage operations?
Yes. The BarFly Group has specific domain expertise in managing operations. We specialize in supervising, directing and controlling management and operations for restaurants across the United States.
• What type of expertise does your team possess?
Our team of professionals is all individuals that have demonstrated leadership and a sustained level of success throughout their careers. Every BarFly professional is considered a domain expert in their field of practice. Our professionals lead and assist our clients in developing practical strategies focused on helping them achieve their business objectives.
• What is your consulting philosophy?
As an organization we espouse and utilize on a daily basis, the leadership and management philosophies of Ken Blanchard’s, The One Minute Manager® and Raving Fans®. We believe that effective goal setting, praising, reprimanding and the one minute apology are great team builders and when used properly, will ensure everyone in our organization is singing from the same song sheet!
Once we contract with you, we utilize these best practices from the onset of our engagement. For example during our launch meeting we will utilize
One Minute Goal Setting. One Minute Goal Setting involves setting clear performance standards and expectations.. In utilizing the One Minute Goal Setting for our project, the Project Leads and team agree on goals or key areas of responsibilities so that the team knows what they will be accountable for and what performance is expected. The Project Leads and team agree that the Project Leads will let the team know when they are performing well and when they are not.
After One Minute Goal setting the Project Lead stays in close contact with the team and gives them a One Minute Praising when they do something right. The most important thing is to catch the team/teammate doing something right-in the beginning it may be approximately right and gradually move them towards the desired behaviors.
